This summer, Penn Hills School District launched its first-ever "Future Leaders Sports & Learning Camp," giving middle school students an opportunity to stay active, continue learning and build leadership skills during the summer months.

Designed for students entering grades 6-8, the camp combined academic enrichment, sports rotations and character development workshops in a fun, supportive environment.

What began as a two-session summer program quickly exceeded expectations.

Due to the overwhelming response from students and families, the district expanded the camp by adding a third week, allowing even more students to participate and continue developing new skills.

Throughout the summer, campers strengthened their academic knowledge, stayed physically active through a variety of sports and games, and participated in activities focused on teamwork, leadership, communication and personal growth. The program created opportunities for students to remain engaged while school was out of session.

The inaugural camp marks another step in the district's efforts to provide enriching experiences that support the whole child while strengthening connections within the Penn Hills community.

Following the success of this year's program, Penn Hills School District looks forward to building on the Future Leaders Summer Camp in the years ahead.
