Penn Hills Celebrates a Memorable Homecoming Weekend
Homecoming festivities kicked off on Monday at Penn Hills High School and Linton Middle School with Pajama Day, marking the start of Spirit Week.
On Friday, October 11, the community came together for a district-wide Pink Out.
That afternoon, the high school hosted an exciting pep rally, which featured the announcement of all Homecoming Court members, performances by the JV and Varsity cheerleaders, a rendition of the Penn Hills Alma Mater by the Penn Hills Choir, the crowning of the staff Homecoming King and Queen, and games such as musical chairs and bubble soccer.
Later that evening, the Penn Hills Varsity Football team secured a thrilling 42-34 victory over the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils in the Homecoming Game. The game included standout performances by Naytel Mitchell, who rushed for 182 yards and scored three touchdowns, and Jay'mere Ellis, who passed for 183 yards and threw three touchdowns. A strong defensive effort in the fourth quarter sealed the win, improving Penn Hills' overall record to 4-4 and placing them third in the conference at 2-1.
During the game, between the first and second quarters, Penn Hills alumni who were being inducted into the Penn Hills Hall of Fame were recognized on the field.
At halftime, the Homecoming Court was introduced, and the crowd cheered as Martel (Telly) Palmer and Mackenzie McIntyre were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. Congratulations to all members of this year's Homecoming Court:
