Introducing the 2024-2025 Beekeeper Leadership and Service Team
Penn Hills Elementary School is thrilled to announce the members of this year's Beekeeper Leadership and Service Team!
This select group consists of approximately 43 exemplary 5th-grade students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind within our school community.
The selection process began last spring when many 4th-grade students submitted applications to join the Beekeepers. Each application was carefully reviewed and evaluated by a committee using a rubric, considering factors such as the quality of their responses, school attendance, and disciplinary history. After a thorough review, the top-scoring students were invited to join this prestigious team, and we are excited to welcome them as this year's Beekeepers!
Throughout the school year, the Beekeepers will participate in various service projects, supporting both our school and the larger community. These student-driven projects will be brainstormed, voted on, and selected by the team to ensure that the activities are meaningful to them. We believe this approach will empower students to become more engaged and proactive leaders.
In addition to service projects, the Beekeepers will take on leadership roles within our school by providing tours to visitors, supporting younger students, and serving as ambassadors at school events. This involvement not only strengthens their leadership skills but also contributes to creating a positive and inclusive environment throughout the school.
A warm welcome is extended to all members of the 2024-2025 Beekeeper team. As sponsors of the program, Mrs. Butler, Ms. Rodden, Mrs. O'Connor, Mrs. Bresso, and Mr. Shelton are excited to witness the positive impact these young leaders will have on our school community and beyond. Penn Hills Elementary School looks forward to a year filled with meaningful service and personal growth!
