Penn Hills Elementary recently recognized students who demonstrated exceptional perseverance during PSSA preparation.

As part of the school’s PSSA readiness efforts, reading specialists worked closely with students in grades 3-5, providing targeted support in writing. Throughout these lessons, students not only strengthened their writing skills, but also explored the importance of maintaining a growth mindset when approaching challenges like standardized assessments.

To honor their hard work, one student from each of four participating classrooms was selected to receive a Growth Mindset Award. These students exemplified the qualities of persistence, effort, and a positive attitude throughout the preparation process.

Each honoree received a certificate signed by Principal Cence, along with a special treat bag to enjoy during the testing weeks. Superintendent Dr. John Mozzocio and School Board President Mrs. Erin Vecchio joined in the celebration, personally presenting awards to two of the students and congratulating them on their dedication and achievement.

This special recognition highlights the importance of hard work, and believing in the power of growth both in the classroom and beyond.
